Once you've filled out the request to "Change Your Registrar" form our homepage, you will receive an email from us and transfers@opensrs.org (sent to the administrative contact's email address). Follow the email's simple instructions to verify the request. Then it is up to your old registrar to approve the request (2-4 days generally). Remeber, your domain/web site name will not experience any downtime during this process. |
I want to make changes but my domain's ADMINISTRATIVE EMAIL is no longer working or has changed - how do I update it?
The administrative email address listed for a domain name in its whois record is considered to be the controling email - if your domain has an admin email address listed that is no longer used or answered you will need to fax us proof of ownership of the domain name so we can change the administrative email. Please fax your signed request on business stationary along with a copy of owner photo id (driver's license with id# removed) to us at 614-559-6536. Please include the new email to use. |
How long does it take to transfer a domain name?
Transferring from another registrar to us generally takes 1-5 days, depending on the responsiveness of the other registrar. |

We charge a fee of $20 dollars to transfer your domain record from your old registrar to us. This adds 1 year of registration onto your current term with your old registrar. Example: You have 6 months left with Network Solutions and you transfer to AAA, you will be charged $20 and have your name for the next 1 year and 6 months. |

No, we're sorry. We do not refund domain name registration fees under any circumstances, and the registration period cannot be shortened or cancelled. However, when the registration period is over, you can choose not to renew. |
What is domain parking? What is domain pointing?
Parking and pointing can sometimes be used interchangably by hosting
and registration services. You want to make sure that if you have
someone park or point your domain it means to them what it means
to you. To us it means virtually the same thing: a second domain
that when put into a web browser points, or re-directs the browser
to another domain. Some times parking can just mean registering
the domain name so that it is "held" or "parked."
To point one domain to another the following code can be placed
into the html code of a web page between the "head" tags:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=http://WWW.DOMAIN_NAME.COM/INDEX.HTM(L)"> |
